Sheeks is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Heman "What makes A man". Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Steve Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Garrett Sheeks!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Sheeks counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Sheeks controlling from the top position.

Rogers is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sheeks is aware though and is defending well.
Sheeks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rogers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rogers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sheeks doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sheeks manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rogers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sheeks can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Rogers looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rogers looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sheeks is one step ahead there.
Sheeks is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rogers is controlling Sheeks's posture.
Rogers is trying to keep Sheeks in close.
Sheeks showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Garrett Sheeks.

Sheeks clinches.

Sheeks manages to break the clinch.
Rogers moves to clinch but Sheeks breaks away

and Sheeks counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sheeks thows a huge punch but Rogers dodges it nicely.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sheeks lands a nice short elbow.
Rogers is not content to let Sheeks control the position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Sheeks in particular looking to stall.
Sheeks prevents Rogers from improving his position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Rogers is pressing down on Sheeks's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Sheeks seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Sheeks trying to control but Rogers is working from the bottom.

Garrett Sheeks has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Sheeks drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sheeks is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Rogers is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sheeks got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rogers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sheeks has managed to get both his arms back between Rogers's legs - danger averted.

Rogers pushes a forearm under Sheeks's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Sheeks is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Steve Rogers!
