Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jared Chilango (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Ponce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan Ponce told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chilango misses with a low kick.
Chilango shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ponce counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Ponce wants to pass the guard but Chilango is keeping the position.
Ponce won't allow Chilango to sweep him here.
Ponce stops Chilango from standing up.

Chilango utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Ponce escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chilango gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Chilango drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chilango jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ponce is looking to take a break and control but Chilango is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Ponce perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Ryan Ponce has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Ponce has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Chilango.

Ponce shoots in for a takedown but Chilango shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Ponce has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Chilango is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ponce has picked Chilango up - he's going for a ride! Ponce dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chilango is on top in guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Ponce shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Ponce is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ponce is breathing heavily.
Chilango is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ponce's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ponce's back!

Chilango has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Ponce! Can he survive? No! He's out! Chilango gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jared Chilango!
