PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Fry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Winter Soon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fry closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Fry has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Soon clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fry is not going to allow Soon to sit and survive in this position.

Fry has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Soon has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Soon tries to roll but Fry sticks to his back.

Fry escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Soon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Winter Soon wasn't active enough on the ground.

Soon fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fry sprawls well initially but Soon persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
