Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hugo Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chip Freedom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freedom comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Star Spangled Banner kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Hugo Martinez could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Chip Freedom's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hugo Martinez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 2, fighting out of New York, Chip Freedom!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Columbo Gatti and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martinez looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Freedom!
Freedom tries to lock up and control but Martinez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Freedom really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Freedom is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Freedom holds on, trying desperately to control.
Freedom is trying to escape the mount.
Freedom sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Martinez shoots in looking for a takedown. Freedom tries to sprawl out of it but Martinez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Freedom manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Martinez is fighting to break Freedom's control of his arms but Freedom is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Freedom lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Martinez has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Martinez and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Freedom tries to close the distance and clinch up but Martinez swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Martinez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Freedom looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Martinez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
