With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mariusz Pirzmak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Cal Ripken Jr!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloppy strikes from Pirzmak. Those never looked like landing.

Ripken Jr throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pirzmak stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Pirzmak darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Pirzmak seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ripken Jr does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ripken Jr is trying to stand up here but Pirzmak is controlling him well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ripken Jr can do anything to dispel that myth.
