Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joose Goebbels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Layne Staley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Goebbels comes to the ring accompanied by Rammstein - Sonne. Staley is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Alice in Chains - No Excuses. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goebbels throws a chopping leg kick but Staley manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Staley throws a low kick but Goebbels avoids it.

Joose Goebbels seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Goebbels tried to score with a low kick but Staley checks it.

Goebbels tries to bum rush Staley with a series of wild strikes but Staley uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Goebbels is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Staley throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

It looks like Layne Staley has been cut.
Staley takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
A lazy left from Goebbels finds it's target.

Goebbels is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Goebbels lands a nice leg kick that just misses Staley's sensitive parts.
Goebbels scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Staley is rocked!
Goebbels throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Staley's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Goebbels dives in looking to finish as Staley flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Goebbels's strikes! Goebbels is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Staley's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Staley was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
