Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hanson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fisher has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Matt Hanson has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Matt Hanson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Greg Fisher!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, William Gold and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanson tries to close the distance and clinch but Fisher swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fisher looks gassed!

Hanson scores with a takedown into Fisher's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hanson is working Fisher over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Hanson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hanson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hanson is pushing down on Fisher's leg trying to pass to half guard. Fisher is fighting to maintain full guard but Hanson has managed to sneak the leg through.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Hanson decides to return to a standing position.
Hanson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fisher swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Hanson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Greg Fisher is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Hanson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Fisher on his heels. He'll look to pass Fisher's guard now, I'm sure.

Hanson stands up and beckons Fisher to his feet.

Hanson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Fisher's guard.

Hanson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Hanson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Hanson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hanson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hanson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Fisher's half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fisher can do anything to dispel that myth.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hanson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Hanson is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Fisher can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Hanson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Fisher is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Hanson has taken his back!

Hanson is persistently looking for the submission but Fisher is defending it well.

Fisher really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hanson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Matt Hanson.

Hanson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fisher wants to get back to his feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Hanson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
