Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Douglas Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Storman Norman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Storman Norman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Douglas Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Storman Norman!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norman misses with a wild body shot.
A telegraphed right hand from Norman misses the target.
Norman throws a right and a left that both miss.
Norman with a poor takedown
and Brown counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Storman Norman has been cut.
Norman showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brown.
Norman misses with a looping left.
Brown swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Norman takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sloppy strikes from Brown. Those never looked like landing.
Brown looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
The fighters circling - Brown throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Norman dodges the punch combination from Brown.
Brown scores with a hook to the body. Norman takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Brown misses with a hook.
Norman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Brown throws out the jab.
Brown throws a series of punches but Norman moves out of range.
Brown moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Brown takes a swing at Norman's ribcage but misses.
Brown uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Norman.

Brown closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Norman quickly recovers to half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brown is taking a breather. Norman says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Norman wants to improve his position but Brown is controlling well.
Norman missing with punches from the bottom.
Norman is not content to let Brown control the position.
Brown with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Norman slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Norman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Brown controls the pace.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Brown wants to control from the top but Norman keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Douglas Brown just wasn't active enough.
Brown throws a lazy right hand but Norman sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Norman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Brown parries the strikes from Norman easily there. Norman is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Brown to escape.
Brown is trying to improve his position.
Norman misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Norman off and has taken his back!
Norman manages to reverse the position and now he's in Brown's guard. Nice work there by Norman.
Brown tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Brown is breathing heavily.
Brown keeping full guard, as Norman tries to pass.
Norman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brown throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Brown is looking for a triangle but Norman pushes his legs off easily.
Norman postures up.
Norman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Norman working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Brown's head.
Brown avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Norman looking to pass the guard.
Norman passes into half guard.
Brown moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Norman wants to pass the guard but Brown is keeping the position.
Brown is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Norman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Brown has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Norman has managed to get both his arms back between Brown's legs - danger averted.
Brown might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Norman trying to control the position from guard on top but Brown is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Norman throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brown works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Brown looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Brown keeping moving, preventing Norman from controlling successfully.
Norman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Douglas Brown dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Storman Norman's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Brown loads up on a big right hand but Norman slips the punch.
Brown scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
No joy there for Brown, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Brown jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Norman misses with a jab, cross combination.
Norman keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Brown.
Norman misses with a straight left.
Brown throws a body punch but Norman moves out of range.
No joy there for Norman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Brown gets a double leg takedown into Norman's guard.

Norman has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brown can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Brown is looking to advance position but Norman has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Norman cracks Brown with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Norman lands a big shot there that rocks Brown but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Norman looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Norman lands with some strikes.
Brown is in all sorts of trouble here.
Norman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Norman is landing with some decent strikes but Brown is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Norman looking to finish Brown with some ground and pound. This is bad for Brown!


Brown is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brown is in a horrible position here. Norman smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Oh Brown is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Norman breaks from Brown's wrist control and lands an elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Norman postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Brown in real trouble here! The ref calls for Brown to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
