Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Urkki Raato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Urkki Raato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Paul Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hogan shoots in but Raato avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Raato takes the fight into the clinch.
Raato has had enough of the clinch but Hogan keeps him there for the moment.
Raato wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Hogan pulls guard effortlessly.
Raato content to stall in guard here.
Hogan looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hogan wants to sweep but no luck.
Hogan wants to get back to his feet but Raato passes into half guard.
Raato wants to pass the guard but Hogan is defending well.

The fighters are battling for position here. Hogan manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Hogan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Raato throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Raato trying to control but Hogan is working from the bottom.
Raato is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Raato stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hogan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Raato controls from within his opponent's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Raato is breathing heavily.
Hogan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hogan looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Raato trying to control but Hogan is working from the bottom.
Raato wants to get up but he can't break Hogan's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Raato darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hogan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Raato's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Raato's back!

Hogan connects with a big shot to the side of Raato's head.
Will Hogan go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

Hogan looking for the choke from the back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Raato trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
Raato is in bad spot here.
Raato looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
Raato trying to control the hands but Hogan breaks the grip.
Raato tries to roll but Hogan sticks to his back.
Hogan is not going to allow Raato to sit and survive in this position.
Raato wants to escape the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Raato looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hogan is looking to finish with some ground and pound!
Raato tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Raato tries to hold on but Hogan postures up.
Hogan trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Raato defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hogan.
Hogan avoids the attempt from Raato to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Urkki Raato will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Raato misses with an uppercut. Hogan saw that one coming.
Hogan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hogan throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Urkki Raato has been cut.
Raato lands with a nice combination. Hogan backs away looking to recover.
The fight stays on the outside here - Raato looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Nice takedown defense from Hogan. No joy for Raato on that attempt.
Raato tries to clinch up but Hogan circles away and keeps his distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hogan.
Hogan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Raato tries to avoid it but Hogan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Raato to the ground. Raato escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Raato takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Hogan lands a right hook to the body.
Urkki Raato is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Raato counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Raato.
Urkki Raato has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Hogan.
Hogan is breathing heavily.

Raato trying to control the position from guard on top but Hogan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Raato fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hogan, pushing him back against the cage.
Hogan is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Raato pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Raato tightens his grip and picks Hogan up, before dumping him to the ground. Hogan manages to land in guard.
Raato works over Hogan with some ground and pound from guard.
Raato tries to stand but Hogan is controlling from the bottom.
Raato wants to control from the top but Hogan keeps moving.
Raato wanted to stand there but Hogan had control of the position.

Hogan has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Raato off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Raato decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Raato is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Hogan regains half guard.
Hogan is looking to improve his position.
Hogan is trying to maintain the position but Raato is very close to passing his half guard.
Raato controlling the action here.
Hogan wants to improve his position but Raato is controlling well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hogan is trying to control but can't.
Raato not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Raato thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Raato is just content to waste time from the top position. Hogan takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hogan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Raato!
Hogan lands a nice shot to the head.

Hogan stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Raato lands with a cross.
A left and a right from Raato both land. Nice combination.
Hogan closes the distance looking to clinch

and Raato counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hogan lands with a slapping head kick.
Hogan takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Raato decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hogan is trying to control but can't.
Raato wants to pass to mount but Hogan is defending the position.
Raato winds up and cracks Hogan with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Raato working the head and body with strikes.
Raato takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Raato passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Hogan!
Raato with the ground and pound from mount.
Hogan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Raato tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Raato has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hogan's face.
Raato controlling from mount.
Raato wants to control the pace but Hogan is squirming around nicely.
Raato sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Hogan is desperately trying to improve his position but Raato has a good base and remains in mount.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Raato controlling from mount.
Hogan can't escape the position.
Hogan tries to lock up and control but Raato gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Hogan is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Raato throwing strikes but Hogan recovers to half guard. A much better position.
Hogan is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Raato's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Raato's back!

Raato might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Raato trying to control the action but Hogan just sinks the hooks in.

Raato breaks Hogan's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Hogan wants to get back to his feet but Raato is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Raato trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hogan's guard.
Hogan trying to keep a closed guard but Raato is proving a slippery customer.

Raato stands up and waves to Hogan to follow him.
Hogan doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Raato counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hogan's guard now.
Raato would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Hogan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Raato gets to his feet. Hogan looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Raato shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Hogan keeping moving, preventing Raato from controlling successfully.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Raato, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
