The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trendell swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Trendell tries a head kick but it misses.
Hammarskjold throws an off balance right hand
and Trendell counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Hammarskjold thinking.

Hammarskjold controls from within his opponent's guard.
Hammarskjold trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Trendell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hammarskjold controls the pace.

Trendell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hammarskjold. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Trendell can't keep his opponent in guard - Hammarskjold advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Hammarskjold working over Trendell with some ground and pound. Trendell looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Hammarskjold tries to pass the half guard into mount. Trendell knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Trendell wants to control but Hammarskjold passes into side.
Trendell is trying to escape the position but Hammarskjold is controlling the position.

Trendell takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Hammarskjold throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Trendell works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Hammarskjold looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Trendell with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hammarskjold connects with a nice short shot to Trendell's temple.

Trendell is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hammarskjold scores with a couple of nice shots.
