Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Larry Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trevor Gaines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grant comes to the cage accompanied by Diesel Power. Trevor Gaines has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Larry Grant's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gaines takes one to the chin there.
Gaines throws a right hand that misses
and Grant counters with a one-two to the body.
Grant misses with the combination.
Grant displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gaines throws out the jab.
Grant misses with a few strikes there.
Gaines throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A combination from Grant does no damage.
Gaines throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Grant counters with a series of strikes. Gaines will be more careful next time no doubt.
Grant throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gaines counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Gaines misses with a lunging right hand
and Grant cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Grant moves out of range of the strikes.

Grant uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Grant throws a combination that misses
and Gaines cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gaines dodges the punch combination from Grant.
Grant swings for the body but Gaines moves out of range.

and Gaines counters with a nice uppercut.

letting Gaines counter with a right hand.
Gaines connects with a good right hand that stumbles Grant. Grant circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Gaines throws a right hand that Grant ducks under and follows up with a left that Grant also avoids with ease.
Gaines tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Grant manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Gaines fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Grant manages to avoid it.
Gaines works Grant's body with a nice hook.
Grant is breathing heavily.
Grant takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Grant throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gaines counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gaines tries to work over Grant's front leg with a kick but Grant checks it.
Gaines feints a jab promting Grant to slip. Gaines then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Grant slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Grant takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Gaines lands with an overhand left.

Grant is rocked!
Gaines misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Gaines waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Grant.
Nice defenses there by Grant.

Grant slips under a jab.
Gaines misses with a wild combination.
Gaines scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Gaines throws a series of punches but Grant moves out of range.
Larry Grant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grant bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gaines missing with a left hand there. Grant was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gaines swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Grant with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Gaines to score with a decent uppercut.
Grant is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Gaines throws a right and a left that both miss.
Grant keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Gaines.

Gaines works the jab nicely.
Gaines rushes Grant with punches - Grant moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Grant goes down! Gaines follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
