Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nikolay Baskov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Baskov has chosen Nikolay Baskov - You are far from me as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Nikolay Baskov was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Nikolay Baskov!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green scores with a nice right hand.

and Baskov counters with a single leg into guard. Green didn't expect that.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Green is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Baskov has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Green can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Baskov changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Green tries to avoid it but Baskov manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Green to the ground. Green escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Baskov walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Green checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Baskov fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Green manages to avoid it.

Green shoots for a double leg takedown but Baskov sprawls well. He's pushed Green's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Baskov lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Baskov tries to score a power double leg takedown but Green sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Baskov somewhat.

Baskov does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Baskov enables Green to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Baskov manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Baskov looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Green has picked Baskov up and slammed him! Baskov can't keep hold of the triangle and Green manages to pass to side control!

Green is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Baskov has escaped the position, nice work there.

Green will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Green is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Baskov has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Baskov!

James Green showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Baskov has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
