The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and Russell Pearce.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chuck misses with a jab, cross combination.
Chuck slips a jab and a cross from Kalivas.
Chuck tries a head kick but it misses.

Kalivas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kalivas lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kalivas gets to his feet. Chuck looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Chuck gets caught flat footed, as Kalivas shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kalivas controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kalivas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chuck swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kalivas gets to his feet - Chuck follows without any prompting.
Chuck stuffs the takedown.
Chuck works over Kalivas's head and body with a nice combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Kalivas counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kalivas.

Kalivas decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Kalivas shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kalivas showed some decent athleticism there.

Kalivas lands a big shot there that rocks Chuck but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Kalivas breaks from Chuck's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Kalivas has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kalivas lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
