Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luke King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitro Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dmitro Perez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Luke King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitro Perez!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Perez throws a sloppy head kick

and King counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
King tries to stand and escape but Perez is controlling the position.
Perez won't allow King to pass to mount.
Perez should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Perez is defending against the submission attempts here by King.
Perez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Perez trying to control from the bottom.
King will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
King wants to pass the guard but Perez is defending well.

King is working for a submission of some sort.
King is breathing heavily.
King thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Perez's head.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Perez trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perez wants to control the action here but instead King manages to pass to full mount!
Perez is in all sorts of trouble here.

King looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Perez defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from King.
Perez tries to hold on but King pushes him away.
Perez is looking to get to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Perez tries to lock up and control but King gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Perez working to try and regain half guard.

King working for a submission but Perez is keeping him at bay.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
King tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luke King dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Perez fails in his attempt to clinch.
King doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Perez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Perez.
Perez with a nice head shot there.
Perez trying to control but King is working from the bottom.
Perez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with King. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Perez wants to get up but he can't break King's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Perez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Perez tries to free his leg and advance position but King is retaining full guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
King keeping moving, preventing Perez from controlling successfully.
Perez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Perez is looking to stand up but King won't let him.

King looking for a guillotine here but Perez defends easily.
King keeping full guard, as Perez tries to pass.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Perez got a little sloppy there for a moment and King has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Perez has managed to get both his arms back between King's legs - danger averted.
Perez wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
King wants to stand up but Perez is controlling him.

King throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Perez escapes and throws King's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Perez has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dmitro Perez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Perez drives through with a takedown into King's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Perez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Perez throws a body punch but King moves out of range.
Perez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Perez keeping moving, preventing King from controlling successfully.

King moves nicely into side control.
Perez is looking to reverse the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

King is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Perez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
King wants to lay and pray for a moment but Perez keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
King lands a nice forearm strike.
Perez wants to control but King postures up.

King is trying to get an arm triangle but Perez is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Perez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but King wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Perez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Luke King overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Perez tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

And that's the end of the fight!
Luke King showed his dominance in that final round.
Well King has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
