Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tony Corner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Connor Cozad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Corner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Connor Cozad!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cozad throws a leg kick
and Corner counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Cozad misses with a telegraphed body shot
enabling Corner to counter with a crisp jab.
Corner tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cozad was well out of range. Poor timing from Corner.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cozad misses with a jab to the body
and Corner counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Cozad thinking.
Cozad doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Corner counters with a stiff right hand.
Cozad throws a lazy uppercut
and Corner counters with a right hand to the body.

Cozad rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Cozad takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Cozad misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Corner counters with a straight right hand.
Cozad lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Tony Corner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Cozad throws a poor cross that misses
letting Corner counter with a right hand.
Corner rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cozad moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Corner stuns Cozad with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

A looping hook to the body misses from Corner. Cozad does a little dance to reset his feet.

Cozad throws a lazy uppercut
and Corner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Corner connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Corner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Cozad rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Corner moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Corner is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Cozad takes a body punch but keeps moving.

and Corner counters with a straight right hand.
Cozad throws a predictable looking body shot
and Corner counters with a one-two to the body.

enabling Corner to counter with a crisp jab.

and Cozad counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Cozad shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Corner counters with a right hand to the body.
Corner tried to score with a low kick but Cozad checks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Corner throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cozad counters with a stiff right hand.

And that's the end of the fight!
Connor Cozad comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Corner has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
