Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harry Villegas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny LaRusso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Villegas's entrance music is War is my destiny. A fine choice. LaRusso has chosen You're The Best! as his entrance music. Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Harry Villegas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Johnny LaRusso!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
LaRusso lands a head kick. Villegas smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
LaRusso throws a leg kick that is checked
and Villegas counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
LaRusso lands a nice leg kick that just misses Villegas's sensitive parts.
LaRusso moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Villegas blocks a leg kick.
LaRusso misses with a jab to the body
and Villegas counters with a nice uppercut.
Villegas swings and misses with a shot to the body
and LaRusso counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Villegas bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Villegas trying to control the action but LaRusso is working from the bottom.
Villegas misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

LaRusso sneaks back into half guard.
LaRusso is staying active underneath Villegas, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Villegas throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
LaRusso really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Villegas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Villegas throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Villegas thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Villegas is nestled in close to LaRusso, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Villegas trying to advance position but LaRusso counters by regaining guard.
LaRusso preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Villegas working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
LaRusso wants to sweep but no luck.
Villegas looking to sit in guard and control but LaRusso gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Villegas isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. LaRusso stacks Villegas on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by LaRusso!
Villegas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Villegas is trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
LaRusso is staying tight to Villegas's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Villegas is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Villegas looks to move to half guard but instead LaRusso has passed into mount! Damn!
Villegas is working to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

LaRusso misses with a jab to the body

and Villegas counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in LaRusso's guard now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Villegas thows a big elbow that misses.
Villegas works a leg free and moves into half guard.
LaRusso is looking to improve his position.
Villegas not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Villegas is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Villegas thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed LaRusso's head.
Villegas thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
LaRusso tries to get to full guard but Villegas has control of the leg.
Villegas with the ground and pound but LaRusso uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Villegas wants to control from the top but LaRusso keeps moving.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
LaRusso looking to hit a scissor sweep but Villegas is one step ahead there.
Villegas stays in close to LaRusso's body and controls the position.
Villegas trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Villegas is standing up over LaRusso. LaRusso looks to escape but Villegas dives into side control.
LaRusso sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Villegas is taking a breather. LaRusso says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Villegas lands strikes from half guard.
LaRusso is looking to control Villegas's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can LaRusso avoid being mounted?

LaRusso is not content to let Villegas control the position.

Villegas is working for an americana but LaRusso has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Villegas was thinking about the submission.
Villegas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Harry Villegas dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Villegas has his takedown stuffed
and LaRusso finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
An inside leg kick from LaRusso misses.
A head kick misses from LaRusso.
LaRusso does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

and LaRusso counters with a nice leg kick.

A looping hook to the body misses from LaRusso. Villegas does a little dance to reset his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Villegas on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

LaRusso misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Villegas.
Johnny LaRusso seems to be getting the better of the standup.
LaRusso misses the body punch

and Villegas counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Villegas.
LaRusso has Villegas pulled in close to control his posture.

LaRusso pulls Villegas in close to prevent any damage.
Villegas trying to control the position from guard on top but LaRusso is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Johnny LaRusso wasn't active enough on the ground.

Villegas cracks LaRusso with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

and Villegas counters with a shoot takedown. LaRusso fights it but they end up in guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Villegas stands up over LaRusso, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Villegas wants to control from the top but LaRusso keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Villegas with a flurry of punches that miss.
Villegas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. LaRusso swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Villegas slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Harry Villegas wasn't doing enough on the ground.
LaRusso throws a nice outside leg kick.
Villegas throws a jab but it's blocked by LaRusso.

and LaRusso counters with an outside leg kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Villegas checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
LaRusso tries to land a body kick
and Villegas counters with a left to the body.
A head kick misses from LaRusso.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Johnny LaRusso.
I think LaRusso has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
