Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Vulture (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Burroughs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Burroughs is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Simple Man By Shinedown. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter Vulture!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Burroughs!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burroughs throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

so Vulture counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Vulture looking to sit in guard and control but Burroughs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Vulture wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Burroughs is now in half guard.
Vulture is trying to get back to full guard.
Burroughs controlling the action here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Burroughs wants to stand up but Vulture has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Burroughs is trying to control the action in half guard but Vulture is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Vulture is looking to escape.
Vulture might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Vulture is trying to get back to full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Burroughs seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Vulture does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by John Burroughs.
Burroughs slips a jab and a cross from Vulture.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Vulture.
Burroughs displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Vulture is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Burroughs's half guard.
Vulture stalling away here and it's allowed Burroughs to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Burroughs is looking for a triangle but Vulture pushes his legs off easily.

Burroughs wriggles free and stands up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Burroughs lands with a nice combination. Vulture backs away looking to recover.

Vulture throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Burroughs tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vulture is in Burroughs's guard.
Vulture knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Burroughs on the ground.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Burroughs is on top in guard.
Burroughs is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Burroughs's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Vulture is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Burroughs is controlling him.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. John Burroughs wasn't active enough on the ground.
Vulture walks into a jab.

Burroughs gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Vulture to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Burroughs throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John Burroughs will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Burroughs misses with a two punch combination.
Vulture throws a left and a right that both miss

and Burroughs counters with a shoot takedown. Vulture fights it but they end up in guard.
Vulture keeping full guard, as Burroughs tries to pass.
Burroughs slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Vulture is trying to control the position but Burroughs postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by John Burroughs.

Vulture fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Burroughs sprawls well initially but Vulture persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burroughs is pressing down on Vulture's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Burroughs manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Vulture on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vulture tries to get out of the position.

Burroughs lands with some strikes.
Burroughs working away from the top, dropping strikes.
Burroughs wants to control the pace but Vulture is squirming around nicely.
Burroughs postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Vulture looks a forlorn figure.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Burroughs tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burroughs throws some wild stikes that Vulture manages to avoid easily.
Burroughs takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Let's hope that Burroughs has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Burroughs looking to control but Vulture is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Vulture is bucking up trying to escape but Burroughs cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Vulture tries to buck Burroughs off but Burroughs takes his back!
Vulture is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Burroughs controlling the position well here. Vulture rolled but Burroughs kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Burroughs showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Burroughs misses with the combination.
Burroughs scores with a body shot.
Burroughs throws a body punch but Vulture moves out of range.
Burroughs showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vulture.
Burroughs throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Vulture looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Burroughs looking to hit a scissor sweep but Vulture is one step ahead there.
Burroughs seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Vulture tries to free his leg and advance position but Burroughs is retaining full guard.

Vulture got a little sloppy there for a moment and Burroughs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vulture has managed to get both his arms back between Burroughs's legs - danger averted.
Burroughs is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Vulture has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Burroughs is working away from the top position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Burroughs is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Vulture is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Burroughs controlling the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Burroughs misses with a wild combination.
Burroughs lands a nice looking body shot.
Nice shot lands for Burroughs.
Peter Vulture seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burroughs throws a series of punches but Vulture avoids them all with ease.
Vulture doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Vulture shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Burroughs napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Burroughs is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Vulture is just content to waste time from the top position. Burroughs takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Vulture looking to sit in guard and control but Burroughs gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Vulture wants to get back to his feet but Burroughs passes into half guard.
Burroughs is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Vulture trying to control but Burroughs postures up.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Burroughs comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Burroughs has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
