The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taai walks into a jab.
Taai Taai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taai throws a push kick but Vieri slaps the foot to one side.
Vieri throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Vieri throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Taai shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vieri pinned against the cage. Vieri gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Taai misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Taai looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Taai. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Vieri's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Taai tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Vieri tries to lock up and control but Taai gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

and Vieri makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Taai switches off momentarily and Vieri cracks him with a monster right hand! Taai topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Vieri dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Vieri!
