Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mats Fotoberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcos Duarte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fotoberg comes to the cage accompanied by Mama said Knock you out. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcos Duarte!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duarte shoots in looking for a takedown but Fotoberg manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Duarte's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Duarte misses with a takedown attempt
and Fotoberg counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Fotoberg throws a hook but Duarte avoids it easily.
Fotoberg throws a body punch but Duarte moves out of range.
Fotoberg tries to clinch there but Duarte circles away.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Duarte checks a leg kick.
Duarte keeps the fight on the outside.
Fotoberg cracks a nice hook into Duarte's ribs.

and Duarte counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Duarte.
Duarte is trying to drag Fotoberg to the mat but Fotoberg just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Mats Fotoberg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcos Duarte.

Duarte works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Duarte stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fotoberg swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fotoberg is looking to regain half guard here but Duarte keeps moving and retains side control.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Fotoberg is trying to stick to Duarte's back but Duarte is turning into Fotoberg. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Fotoberg's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Duarte.

Duarte shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fotoberg but Fotoberg pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fotoberg fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Duarte manages to avoid it.

Fotoberg tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Duarte was well out of range. Poor timing from Fotoberg.
Fotoberg will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Duarte rushes Fotoberg and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Fotoberg is trying to break the clinch but Duarte has him pressed against the cage.
Duarte is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Fotoberg enables Duarte to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fotoberg manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
