Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Filho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Franklin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tony Franklin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tony Franklin!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filho misses with a looping left.
Filho shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Filho is pushing down on Franklin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Franklin is fighting to maintain full guard but Filho has managed to sneak the leg through.

Filho has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Franklin has hold of Filho's hands but Filho slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Franklin is looking for a sweep. Filho is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Franklin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Franklin.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Filho scores with a crisp jab that stopped Franklin in his tracks.
Franklin ducks under a wild hook from Filho.
Filho takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Horrible takedown by Franklin or perhaps it was just good defense by Filho which made him look bad.
Franklin shoots in and bounces Filho off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Franklin tries to stand but Filho is controlling from the bottom.
Franklin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Filho bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Franklin's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Filho throws a big right hand that misses.

Franklin has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Filho is looking to work some ground and pound but Franklin has wrist control.
Filho postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Franklin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Filho, into his guard.
Filho wants to sweep but no luck.
Filho is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Franklin frees his head nicely. Oh but Filho has switched to an armbar! Franklin is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
