PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Farr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Caleites (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Farr's entrance music is Welsh National Anthem. A fine choice. Caleites is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Swedish House Mafia - One. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Benny Caleites enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tommy Farr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Benny Caleites!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caleites takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Caleites shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Farr pinned against the cage. Farr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Caleites tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Farr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Farr lands a lovely overhand right.
Farr throws a hook to the side of Caleites's head but Caleites sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Farr swings away with a body shot that misses

and Caleites counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Farr on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Farr tries to get out of the position.
Caleites thows a huge punch but Farr dodges it nicely.
Caleites wants to lay and pray for a moment but Farr keeps working.

Caleites decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Farr throws an off balance right hand

and Caleites counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Still in half guard, Caleites seems content to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Caleites tries to pass the half guard into mount. Farr knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Let's hope that Caleites has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

and Caleites counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Farr!
Farr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Caleites on the ground.

Caleites can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Farr is looking to escape.
Caleites content just to control the position here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Caleites is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Farr pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Caleites has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Farr avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Farr tries to break the clinch but Caleites is controlling the position.

Tommy Farr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Benny Caleites.
Caleites has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Farr avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Caleites is trying to drag Farr to the mat but Farr just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Caleites drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Caleites has Farr pressed against the cage, preventing Farr from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Farr is trying to break the clinch but Caleites has him pressed against the cage.
Farr has had enough of the clinch but Caleites keeps him there for the moment.
Farr wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Caleites drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Farr wants to break free but Caleites has control.
Farr tries to circle away but Caleites has him pinned against the cage.
Caleites is working for takedown but Farr is calmly controlling the position for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Caleites keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Farr's efforts to push away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tommy Farr dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Farr lands with a straight right. Caleites didn't see that one coming.


It looks like Benny Caleites has been cut.
Caleites uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Farr.
Caleites tries to clinch up but Farr circles away and keeps his distance.

Caleites fails with the takedown
and Farr counters with a stiff right hand.
Tommy Farr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Caleites shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Farr sprawls well. Farr wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Caleites gets slowly back to his feet.
Farr's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Farr duly obliges.
Benny Caleites is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Farr lands a slapping body shot.
Farr slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Caleites tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Farr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Farr misses with an uppercut.
Farr lands with a nice body punch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Caleites takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Caleites tries to clinch but Farr is having none of it.
Caleites moves away from the strike by Farr.
Farr connects with a right hand. Caleites shakes it off.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tommy Farr showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Farr has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
