Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jurnu Purnu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jurnu Purnu will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jurnu Purnu!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Purnu has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jones can't break the clinch.

Purnu manages to break the clinch.
Purnu stuffs the takedown.
Purnu tries to clinch up

so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jones sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Purnu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Purnu is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Jones has gone for a leg lock! Purnu slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jones's guard.
Jones is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Purnu wants to stand but Jones has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Purnu is one step ahead there.
Purnu lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Purnu stands up from Jones's guard - Purnu perhaps looking for a knockout.
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Purnu counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Purnu.
Jones has Purnu pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Purnu manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Purnu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Purnu closes the distance looking to clinch

and Jones counters by clinching up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Purnu gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jones.
Jones is breathing heavily.

Purnu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Purnu thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Jones if he has to take too many more of those.
Jones chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Purnu can pounce on him.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Purnu lands a big head kick that sends Jones tumbling to the mat! Purnu takes a step backwards and waves Jones back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Jones is rocked!

It looks like James Jones has been cut.
Jones backs away from a small jab...but Purnu lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Jones crumples to the ground as his mouth piece is sent flying! Purnu with a spectacular finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Jurnu Purnu!
