Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Poo Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dennis Reder!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reder misses with a left hand

and Bear counters with a takedown into side control.
Reder manages to work his way to half guard, despite Bear's best efforts.

Bear is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Bear seems to be looking for submissions.
Bear takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Reder can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bear is looking for a kimura but Reder is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bear to get the leverage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bear seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Reder does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bear wants to advance to full mount but Reder doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Bear is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Bear trying to control the position from guard on top but Reder is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bear pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Reder is keeping the position for now.

Reder manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bear manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Reder keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bear's head.

Bear is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bear gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bear not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bear will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Reder is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Reder loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Reder must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bear is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Bear avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Reder throws a strike but Bear rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Reder is trying to control the position but Bear postures up.

Reder might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bear kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Bear stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reder swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bear is fighting to break Reder's control of his arms but Reder is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Bear passes into half guard.

Bear is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Reder sees it coming and defends easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Reder trying to control here.
Reder wants to get back to full guard.
Reder wants to control but Bear is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Dennis Reder was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Reder's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bear connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Reder scrambles back to his feet.

Bear closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Reder to the mat! Reder manages to get full guard.
Bear trying to control the position from guard on top but Reder is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Reder wants to control but Bear passes easily into half guard.
Bear looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bear looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Reder is trying to control but can't.

Reder is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Bear has latched onto it... Big trouble! Bear pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Reder is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Bear!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Poo Bear!
