The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cassemiro tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mara paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Mara dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Cassemiro gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Cassemiro's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mara under the eye.

A looping hook to the body misses from Mara. Cassemiro does a little dance to reset his feet.

Mara tries to clinch but Cassemiro is having none of it.
Mara throws a shot from downtown. Cassemiro moves away and avoids it.
Mara uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Cassemiro has time to react.

Cassemiro throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mara sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Cassemiro closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mara circles away.
Cassemiro seems to have got his legs back now.
Mara keeps the fight on the outside.

Mara throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cassemiro stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Mara wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Cassemiro takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Cassemiro takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Mara wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Mara lands a lovely overhand right.
Matthew Mara is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mara ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Mara tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Cassemiro manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Cassemiro shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Cassemiro uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mara.
Mara lands with an overhand left.
and Mara counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Cassemiro! He's just covering up as Mara starts to tee off till referee steps in and stops the fight!
