Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Parr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mirko Cro Cop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mirko Cro Cop has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Wayne Parr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mirko Cro Cop!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cro Cop tries to close the distance and clinch up but Parr swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cro Cop shoots for a double leg takedown but Parr sprawls well. He's pushed Cro Cop's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Parr lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Parr.
Cro Cop avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Parr moves out of range as Cro Cop throws a body kick.

Cro Cop pushes Parr up against the cage in a clinch.
Cro Cop tries for a takedown. No joy.
Parr tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cro Cop's elbow.
Cro Cop jumps guard but Parr stands there with Cro Cop around his waist. Cro Cop gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Wayne Parr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mirko Cro Cop.
Parr tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cro Cop's elbow.
Parr tries a body shot but Cro Cop blocks it.

Cro Cop ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cro Cop no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cro Cop is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cro Cop is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Cro Cop is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Cro Cop wants to clinch.
Parr throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Danga de danga de dang - Parr scores with a four punch combination!
Cro Cop shoots in looking for a takedown but Parr manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Cro Cop's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Parr tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cro Cop paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Parr throws a right and a left that Cro Cop avoids nicely.
Parr tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Cro Cop counters with a big head kick but Parr shrugs it off.
Parr scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Parr tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cro Cop paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wayne Parr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Parr lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cro Cop backs up against the cage.

Cro Cop fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Parr, pushing him back against the cage.
Cro Cop is trying to drag Parr to the mat but Parr just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Cro Cop misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Parr.

Cro Cop is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Parr is defending well for now.
Cro Cop trying to stall but Parr improves his position.
Cro Cop is trying to break the clinch but Parr is controlling him.
Cro Cop drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Cro Cop as Parr tries to tie him up.
Parr lands a hook that snaps the head of Cro Cop backwards.
Parr is trying to stall.
A body shot lands from Parr.
Parr lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Cro Cop or not.
Parr pushes Cro Cop back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wayne Parr dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Parr tries to clinch but Cro Cop is having none of it.

and Cro Cop counters with a nice double leg into side control. Parr won't be happy with that.
Parr is pushing Cro Cop's head away, looking to escape. Cro Cop manages to hold on to the position though.
You can see the frustration on Parr's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Parr stops Cro Cop from passing to mount.
Parr is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Cro Cop asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Parr is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Cro Cop off and has taken his back!
Cro Cop is breathing heavily.

Parr struggling to land strikes to the head as Cro Cop covers up.
Parr is not going to allow Cro Cop to sit and survive in this position.
Parr is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Parr gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Parr gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Parr apologises and we restart here on the feet.
Cro Cop avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cro Cop has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Maybe Parr would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Parr rushes Cro Cop and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Cro Cop escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cro Cop shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Parr as he avoids it easily.
Cro Cop keeps the fight on the outside.
Danga de danga de dang - Parr scores with a four punch combination!

and Cro Cop counters with a nice double leg into side control. Parr won't be happy with that.
Parr tries to bench press Cro Cop off him but Cro Cop keeps the position.
Cro Cop content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Parr gets back to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Parr trying to control but Cro Cop postures up.
Parr is pressing down on Cro Cop's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Cro Cop trying to control the position from guard on top but Parr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cro Cop stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Parr swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Parr thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Parr tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cro Cop is looking to stand up but Parr won't let him.
Parr keeping moving, preventing Cro Cop from controlling successfully.

Mirko Cro Cop has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Parr tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Parr looks to land a combination. Cro Cop sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Parr tries to close the distance and clinch but Cro Cop swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Parr gets a clinch.
Cro Cop tries to pull guard but Parr won't allow it.

Cro Cop jumps guard and drags Parr to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Parr trying to control the position from guard on top but Cro Cop is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Parr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cro Cop swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Parr has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cro Cop is proving hard to escape from.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Wayne Parr wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Parr moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Parr rushes Cro Cop and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cro Cop has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Parr is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Wayne Parr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mirko Cro Cop.
Parr lands a hook to the side of the head.
Cro Cop tries to pull guard but Parr won't allow it.
Parr stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Parr digs a right hand underneath Cro Cop's ribcage. Cro Cop let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Parr is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Cro Cop is keeping busy.
Cro Cop fails to pull guard.
Mirko Cro Cop has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Wayne Parr is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Parr works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Wayne Parr.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Parr, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
