Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lennon Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tony Jaa!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Joe shoots in and bounces Jaa off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jaa throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Joe drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jaa manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Joe has Jaa in his guard.

Joe has his foot on Jaa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jaa works his way back into a safe position though.
Jaa wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving.

Joe is looking for a triangle but Jaa pushes his legs off easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Joe is looking for a triangle here but Jaa uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Jaa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Joe keeps working.
Joe sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Joe looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Jaa is trying to control the action in half guard but Joe is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Jaa has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Joe works to full guard.
Jaa throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Joe works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Jaa wants to stand but Joe has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Jaa pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Joe is keeping the position for now.
Joe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Joe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Joe looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Jaa wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Joe's closed guard. He's half up but Joe has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Joe pivots and extends the arm, Jaa falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Joe! Well done that man!
