Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Buzz Bombada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryo Kanzaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryo Kanzaki will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Buzz Bombada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryo Kanzaki!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kanzaki misses with a takedown attempt

and Bombada counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kanzaki's guard now.
Bombada throwing strikes but missing.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bombada controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bombada lands a couple of elbows.
Bombada wants to control from the top but Kanzaki keeps moving.
Kanzaki trying to keep a closed guard but Bombada is proving a slippery customer.
Bombada with a flurry of punches that miss.

Bombada has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kanzaki is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Bombada throws and elbow that misses. Kanzaki uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bombada's guard. Nice move by Kanzaki!

Bombada scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Kanzaki tries to clinch but Bombada is having none of it.

Bombada decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Bombada stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kanzaki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kanzaki looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bombada is working Kanzaki over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Bombada stands up over Kanzaki, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Kanzaki has momentary wrist control but Bombada slips an elbow through the middle.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Bombada closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kanzaki to the mat! Kanzaki manages to get full guard.

Bombada slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Bombada wants to pass the guard but Kanzaki is keeping the position.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Kanzaki decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Kanzaki is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bombada is just riding it out for now. Kanzaki eventually gives up the hold.

Bombada has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Buzz Bombada.

Bombada fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kanzaki sprawls well initially but Bombada persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bombada thows a huge punch but Kanzaki dodges it nicely.
Bombada looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Bombada wants to take a breather but Kanzaki is having none of it.

Kanzaki wants to get back to full guard but Bombada has mounted him!
Bombada lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Kanzaki wants to hold on but Bombada pushes him away.
Bombada lands a nice shot to the head.
Kanzaki is breathing heavily.
Bombada looking to finish Kanzaki with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kanzaki!
Bombada has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Kanzaki's face.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

BOOM! Bombada connects with a massive shot to the dome!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buzz Bombada dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Kanzaki fails with the takedown

and Bombada counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kanzaki!
