Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Asamoah Mensah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Van Damme (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mensah comes to the cage accompanied by Jump around. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Asamoah Mensah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Van Damme!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damme throws a nice inside leg kick.
Mensah throws a push kick but Damme slaps the foot to one side.
Mensah throws a body kick that misses.
Damme looks to clinch
and Mensah counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Damme is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Damme gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mensah counters with a head kick. That will keep Damme thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Mensah throws a right hand that misses
and Damme counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Damme takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Mensah throws a sloppy head kick and Damme moves out of range easily.
Mensah swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Damme counters with a series of strikes. Mensah will be more careful next time no doubt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Damme tries to clinch but Mensah moves away
and Mensah counters with a nice body kick.

Damme looks gassed!
Damme shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mensah counters with a big head kick but Damme shrugs it off.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mensah plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Van Damme has been cut.
Mensah throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Damme counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Damme tries for a takedown but Mensah circles away easily
and Mensah counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Asamoah Mensah has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Van Damme.
Mensah goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Damme is rocked!
Mensah lands a big head kick that sends Damme to the canvas! Mensah follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Asamoah Mensah!
