PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Morton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Simpson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morton comes to the cage accompanied by Rock N Roll-Led Zeppelin. Simpson has chosen Devil on My Shoulder as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricky Morton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chuck Simpson!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson throws a sloppy head kick
and Morton counters with a low kick, right behind Simpson 's knee.
Simpson falls off balance throwing a combination
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Simpson misses with a right hand

and Morton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Simpson won't be happy with that.
Morton works to advance to full mount. Simpson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Morton lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Simpson throwing hammer fists to the chest of Morton. What's that going to do exactly?

Morton content just to control the position here.
Simpson is working to get back to half guard.
Simpson is trying to reverse the position but instead Morton has taken his back - oops!
Morton is trying to stick to Simpson's back but Simpson is turning into Morton. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Morton's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Simpson.
Morton looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Simpson postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Morton tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Simpson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Morton dives on top into guard.

Morton drops back looking for a leg! Simpson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Simpson manages to kick Morton off! Morton jumps back into Simpson's guard.

Morton is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Simpson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Morton is looking to defend but Simpson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Morton! Simpson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Morton taps out and this one is all over!
