Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Josh Matson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksandr Glazkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Josh Matson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Aleksandr Glazkov!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matson connects with the punch.
Glazkov misses the body punch
and Matson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Glazkov misses with a series of wild punches.
Matson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Glazkov throws a jab but it's blocked by Matson.
Matson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Glazkov makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Glazkov.
Matson tries for a takedown. No joy.
Matson fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Matson tries to break the clinch but Glazkov is controlling the position.

Matson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Matson thows a left - swing and a miss!
Glazkov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Matson shoots for a double leg takedown but Glazkov sprawls well. He's pushed Matson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Matson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Matson tests Glazkov's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Glazkov fails to land with a series of punches.
Matson throws a lazy right hand but Glazkov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Matson misses with an uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Matson connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Matson with a poor takedown

and Glazkov counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Josh Matson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Glazkov is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Glazkov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Glazkov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Matson has managed to free his arm - good work.

Glazkov is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Matson defends it well.

Glazkov seems to be looking for submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Matson manages to get to full guard.

Glazkov drops back, looking for a kneebar! Matson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Matson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Matson!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Matson trying to control the position but Glazkov is working away.
Glazkov prevents Matson from improving position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Glazkov tries to bench press Matson off him but Matson keeps the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Matson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Matson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Matson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Matson trying to control the position but Glazkov is working away.

Matson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Matson shoots for a takedown but Glazkov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Matson misses with a lunging right hand
and Glazkov counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Matson throws a hook but Glazkov blocks it.
Matson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Glazkov pinned against the cage. Glazkov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Glazkov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Matson swivels and escapes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Glazkov closes the distance and clinches.

Glazkov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Matson throws out a loose jab but Glazkov uses good head movement to avoid it.
Matson misses with a left hand

and Glazkov moves into the clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Glazkov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Matson closes the distance and clinches up with Glazkov, looking for a takedown. Matson pushes Glazkov against the cage but Glazkov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Matson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Glazkov counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Glazkov fails with a takedown attempt.
A jab from Glazkov does it's job there.
Matson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Matson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Glazkov counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Matson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Glazkov.
Glazkov scores with a punch to the head.
Glazkov with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Matson to score with a decent uppercut.
Matson tests Glazkov's chin there with a solid looking shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Josh Matson dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Glazkov misses with a hook. Matson ducked under it nicely.


Glazkov is rocked!
Glazkov ducks into an uppercut from Matson and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Josh Matson!
