The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ueda gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ueda takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Piper shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Piper throws the kick towards the body but Ueda avoids it.

Ueda closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

I would just about give that final round to Masakatsu Ueda.
