Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maya Richer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maya Richer will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Hickson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maya Richer!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, William Peck and Steve Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hickson dives in and scores a takedown into Richer's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hickson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Richer's head.

Richer working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hickson has passed into half guard!

Hickson decides to return to a standing position.

Hickson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hickson lands in his opponent's guard.

Richer looking for a guillotine here but Hickson defends easily.

Richer looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hickson has picked Richer up and slammed him! Richer can't keep hold of the triangle and Hickson manages to pass to side control!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Richer is looking to reverse the position.
Hickson works to advance to full mount. Richer defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Richer is in a horrible position here. Hickson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Hickson get's back to his feet.
Hickson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Richer.
Richer looks gassed!
Richer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Hickson counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hickson postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Richer badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Hickson around the waist but Hickson pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Hickson is the winner by TKO! Hickson jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
