Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jacob Esau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ronald Frederman!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Esau blocks a low kick nicely.

and Frederman counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Frederman.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Frederman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Esau kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ronald Frederman was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Esau looks to land a left hand but Frederman moved out of range nicely.

and Esau counters with a nice uppercut.

and Frederman counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Esau swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

and Frederman counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Frederman stays in close to Esau's body and controls the position.
It looks like Frederman might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Frederman advances to half guard.
Esau is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Frederman scores with a couple of nice shots.

Esau wants to improve his position but Frederman is controlling well.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Esau has hold of Frederman's hands but Frederman slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Frederman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Esau's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ronald Frederman dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Frederman counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Esau!

Frederman sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Frederman lands a big shot there that rocks Esau but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Esau tries to hold on but Frederman pushes him away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
