Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee Stroud (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee Stroud could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Steve Rogers's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lee Stroud!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Rogers!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Bruno Lombardi and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers tries to clinch but Stroud moves away

and Stroud counters by moving into the clinch.
Rogers lands a left hand that snaps the head of Stroud backwards.


It looks like Lee Stroud has been cut.
Stroud takes a shot to the head.
Rogers has a couple of punches blocked by Stroud.
Stroud goes for a takedown in the clinch but Rogers prevents it.
Rogers creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Rogers throws a head punch that misses.
Rogers fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Stroud lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Stroud trying to control from Rogers's half guard. Rogers has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Rogers is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stroud is controlling him.

Stroud drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stroud jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Stroud wants to stand but Rogers has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Stroud trying to control but Rogers is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rogers preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Stroud throwing strikes but missing.

Rogers wriggles free and stands up.
Stroud jabs Rogers to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Rogers wants to clinch but Stroud slips to the side

and Stroud counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Rogers avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Rogers wants to stand up but Stroud is controlling him.
Rogers keeping moving, preventing Stroud from controlling successfully.
Stroud trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Rogers is looking to stand up but Stroud isn't so interested in that idea.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rogers looks gassed!
Stroud postures up and lands a big shot to Rogers's brow.

Stroud drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rogers manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Stroud has Rogers in his guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Stroud had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rogers defends it easily.

Rogers stands up and waves to Stroud to follow him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Stroud tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rogers sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Stroud somewhat.
Steve Rogers is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rogers tries to clinch but Stroud is having none of it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stroud looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Stroud fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rogers, pushing him back against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Rogers fails to land.
Stroud tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Rogers avoids it.
Rogers lands with a light punch inside.
Rogers throws a punch but it's blocked by Stroud.
A head punch on the inside from Stroud fails to land.
Stroud is looking to control Rogers's arms but Rogers gets an underhook and turns him. Now Stroud has his back to the cage.

Stroud pulls guard effortlessly.
Rogers would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Rogers must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Rogers decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Stroud, up you get!
Rogers wants to clinch

and Stroud counters by clinching up.
Rogers misses with a punch on the inside.

Stroud jumps guard and drags Rogers to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Stroud working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rogers doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Stroud is tightening it up a little... Rogers has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Rogers reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Rogers taps out! nice BJJ there by Stroud!
