PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jarmo Pajumaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sven Verdek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pajumaki's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Rage Against the Machine - Bombtrack. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jarmo Pajumaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sven Verdek!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Ren Mimura and Yuuki Gou.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Verdek keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Pajumaki swinging wilding here.
Jarmo Pajumaki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Verdek dodges the punch combination from Pajumaki.
Pajumaki misses with a jab, cross combination.
Verdek has a takedown stuffed.
A swing and a miss from Pajumaki.
Verdek throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pajumaki's waist but Pajumaki gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Verdek off to one side.

Verdek feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Pajumaki is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Pajumaki slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Pajumaki is looking to improve his position.
Pajumaki throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Pajumaki is looking to escape.
Verdek is looking to pass Pajumaki's guard but actually Pajumaki recovers to full guard.
Pajumaki wants to improve his position but instead Verdek has moved into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Verdek slows the pace down in half guard.
Verdek seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pajumaki does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Pajumaki is trying to stand.
Pajumaki is breathing heavily.
Verdek is looking to take a break and control but Pajumaki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Verdek is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Pajumaki has managed to free his arm - good work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Pajumaki is trying to stand.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Pajumaki throws a right and a left that both miss.
Verdek fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Jarmo Pajumaki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sven Verdek.

Verdek gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Pajumaki is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Verdek has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Pajumaki is looking to defend but Verdek has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Pajumaki! Verdek pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Pajumaki taps out and this one is all over!
