PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mr Boxer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Fadden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fadden comes into a darkened arena with his song building. From Hell by Faces Of Mars kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mr Boxer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Fadden!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fadden pushes Boxer up against the cage in a clinch.
Fadden gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Boxer.

Fadden pulls guard.
Fadden wants to sweep here but Boxer controlling him for the moment.
Boxer trying to control but Fadden is working from the bottom.

Fadden working for a triangle but Boxer defends it easily.
Fadden wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boxer looking to sit in guard and control but Fadden gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Fadden trying to control but Boxer is working from the bottom.
Boxer looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fadden is one step ahead there.
Boxer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Fadden throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Boxer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mr Boxer.

Boxer closes the distance and clinches.
Fadden stops a takedown attempt from Boxer.

Fadden's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fadden moves to clinch but Boxer breaks away

and Boxer moves into the clinch.
Fadden lands a nice knee to the body.
Boxer is trying to drag Fadden to the mat but Fadden just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mr Boxer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fadden breaks from the clinch.

Boxer misses with a body shot.
Boxer circles away from the clinch attempt.
Fadden throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fadden closes the distance but Boxer moves to the side
and Boxer counters with a left to the body.
Boxer misses with a takedown

and Fadden moves into the clinch.
Fadden working Boxer over with knees to the body.
Boxer can't get the takedown.
Fadden landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Boxer is breathing heavily.

Fadden jumps guard.
Boxer stops Fadden from standing up.
Fadden throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Boxer passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Boxer tries to move to full mount but Fadden actually manages to regain half guard.

Fadden kicks off Boxer and gets to his feet.
Boxer lands a nice shot that snaps Fadden's head back.

Boxer gets caught napping as Fadden dives in and scores a takedown. Boxer manages to retain guard.
Fadden connects with a couple of short punches.

Boxer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fadden gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Fadden postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Boxer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Fadden wants to control from the top but Boxer keeps moving.
Boxer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Fadden stopping the sweep attempt from Boxer.

We're going to have a standup here because Mr Boxer wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Fadden missing with a left hand there. Boxer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Boxer fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Fadden fails in his attempt to clinch.
Boxer throws a nice looking combination but Fadden bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Fadden dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Boxer counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Fadden doesn't manage to clinch there - Boxer circles away.

Fadden fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Boxer sprawls well initially but Fadden persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Boxer is trying to get back to full guard.
Fadden thows a huge punch but Boxer dodges it nicely.
Boxer is looking to control Fadden's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Boxer avoid being mounted?
Fadden stops Boxer from getting back to his feet.

Boxer tries to roll over but Fadden keeps him under control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mr Boxer.

Fadden has gone for a leg lock! Boxer slips out almost immediately though and dives into Fadden's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Boxer manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Jack Fadden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Boxer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Fadden closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Boxer throws a right hand that Fadden ducks under and follows up with a left that Fadden also avoids with ease.

Boxer clinches up with Fadden and pushes him back against the cage.

Fadden wants the takedown. Boxer is fighting it off but Fadden persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Boxer's guard against the cage.

Fadden gets to his feet. Boxer looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Mr Boxer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fadden throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Boxer moves into the clinch.
Boxer tries for a takedown but Fadden manages to get underhooks.
Fadden with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Fadden is pressed up against the cage. Boxer has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Fadden down to the mat. Fadden avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Fadden wants to clinch up but Boxer keeps it at a distance.
Sloppy strikes from Fadden. Those never looked like landing.

Boxer closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Fadden pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Boxer tries to score a body lock takedown but Fadden shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Boxer is working for takedown but Fadden is calmly controlling the position for now.
Boxer is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Fadden gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Fadden gets control of Boxer's arms and successfully pulls guard. Fadden will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Boxer looking to sit in guard and control but Fadden gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Boxer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Boxer looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Fadden stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Boxer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jack Fadden is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

I've got Fadden winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
