Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mike Cotter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyson Johnson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyson Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cotter is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Johnson.


It looks like Mike Cotter has been cut.
Cotter tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cotter swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Johnson counters with a nice uppercut.
Cotter lands with an overhand left.
No joy there for Johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Johnson ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Johnson will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Cotter scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Johnson tries a head kick but it misses.
Johnson moves into range and connects with a jab.
Johnson throws a lazy right hand but Cotter sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Johnson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cotter circles away quickly and effectively.

Tyson Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Johnson counters with a stiff right hand.

Cotter has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Johnson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
