Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Late (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ron Saturn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Late!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ron Saturn!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Saturn looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Saturn looks to land a strike but Late avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Saturn throws a big right hand that misses.

Late looking for a guillotine here but Saturn defends easily.

Late is looking for a triangle but Saturn pushes his legs off easily.

Late has his foot on Saturn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Saturn works his way back into a safe position though.
Late preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Late working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Saturn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Saturn manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Saturn wants to pass the guard but Late is keeping the position.

Late is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Late escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Saturn gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Saturn trying to control but Late is working from the bottom.
Late is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Saturn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Late swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Saturn won't allow Late to sweep him here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Late is on top in guard.
Late stops Saturn from standing up.
Saturn has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Late has passed into side control.
Saturn is not content to let Late control the position.

Saturn is trying to get back to his feet.
Saturn struggling a bit here.
Saturn tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Late wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Saturn wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Late trying to control the action but Saturn is working from the bottom.

Late thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Late working away.

Late wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Saturn, who protects the arm well.
A control attempt from Saturn but he's now mounted!

Late jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Saturn manages to avoid the submission attempt.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Saturn can do anything to dispel that myth.
Late is breathing heavily.
Saturn is looking to reverse the position.
Saturn wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Saturn is not content to let Late control the position.
Saturn is looking to reverse the position.

Late looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
I wouldn't like to be where Saturn is right now.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Late tries to close the distance and clinch but Saturn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Saturn shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Late is trying to defend but Saturn finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Late regains full guard. Nicely done.

Late uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Ron Saturn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Late tries to close the distance and clinch up but Saturn swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Saturn drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Saturn working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Saturn has knee on belly momentarily but Late bucks him off and regains half guard.
Saturn scoring with strikes to the body and head.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Saturn lands a nice short elbow.

Saturn wants to advance to full mount but Late doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Saturn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Late. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Saturn is breathing heavily.
Saturn is looking to work some ground and pound but Late has wrist control.
Saturn stays in close to Late's body and controls the position.
Saturn's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Late bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Saturn's guard.
Saturn keeping moving, preventing Late from controlling successfully.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Late advances to half guard.

Late is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Saturn doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Late.
Saturn tries to get to full guard but Late has control of the leg.
Late wants to take a breather but Saturn is having none of it.
Saturn looks like he's trying to stand up.
Saturn is looking for a sweep. Late is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Late is trying to control the action in half guard but Saturn is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Late is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Saturn is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

We're going to have a standup here because Scott Late wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Late misses with a body shot.
Late tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Saturn shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Saturn was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Late regains half guard.
Saturn stalling.
Saturn thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Late's head.
Late is trying to maintain the position but Saturn is very close to passing his half guard.
Saturn wants to pass the guard but Late is defending well.

Saturn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Late does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Late is trying to stand.
Saturn working Late over with strikes.

Saturn goes for a cartwheel guard pass here but Late does a handstand and catches Saturn in mid air with a triangle! Could it be? It is! It's the triple decker pecker wrecker! The fighters land on the ground with Late on top - Saturn is already out from the submission! Late gives Saturn's pecker the obligatory post submission twist and this one is aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall over! Are you kidding me! That is world class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. That guy is my hero!
