Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Forrest Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Secunda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Killing In The Name. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Forrest Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Secunda!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Secunda avoids a punch combination nicely.
Griffin scores with a nice body kick.
Griffin misses with a double jab
and Secunda counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Griffin tries to clinch there but Secunda circles away.

and Secunda counters with a low kick, right behind Griffin 's knee.
Griffin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Griffin lands with an overhand left.
Secunda feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Griffins jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Secunda keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Griffin throws a shot from downtown. Secunda moves away and avoids it.
Griffin tries to close the distance and clinch but Secunda swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Griffin throws a poor cross that misses
letting Secunda counter with a right hand.
Griffin buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Secunda ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Griffin tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Griffin connects with a solid leg kick.
Secunda changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Griffin tries to avoid it but Secunda manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Griffin to the ground. Griffin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Secunda throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Griffin looks to land a combination but Secunda avoids it well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Griffin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Secunda swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Secunda counters with a takedown into side control.
Griffin is looking for a sweep.
Griffin is trying to buck Secunda off.
Griffin looking for a sweep but Secunda has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Griffin falls off balance throwing a combination
and Secunda counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Secunda is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Griffin's half guard.
Griffin tries to roll over but Secunda keeps him under control.

Griffin is trying to maintain the position but Secunda is very close to passing his half guard.

Secunda stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Griffin swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Secunda is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Griffin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Secunda slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Johnny Secunda was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Secunda shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Griffin but Griffin pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sloppy strikes from Griffin. Those never looked like landing.

and Griffin counters with a good low kick that Secunda was not able to check.

and Secunda counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Griffin's guard now.
Griffin is pulling down on Secunda's head to control his posture.

Griffin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Secunda thows a huge punch but Griffin dodges it nicely.

Secunda has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Secunda might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Griffin kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Johnny Secunda comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
