Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Halfway Crook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hattori Chiba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crook's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Triple Spiral. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Halfway Crook!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hattori Chiba!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Winston Howard and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crook throws a hook to the side of Chiba's head but Chiba sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Chiba with a poor takedown
and Crook counters with a stiff right hand.
Crook lands the left hand.
Crook throws a combination. Chiba tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Crook bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Chiba's head.
Crook misses with a hook to the body
and Chiba counters with a takedown into side control.
Crook is looking for a sweep.
Chiba wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Crook, who protects the arm well.
Chiba decides to stand back up. Chiba steps back and let's Crook get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Crook throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Chiba counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Crook's guard now.

Crook is working an open guard so Chiba takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Crook thows a body shot but no joy.
Crook throws a body punch but Chiba moves out of range.
Chiba steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Crook.
Crook scores with a one two! Chiba had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

and Chiba decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Crook's guard.
Chiba wants to stand but Crook is controlling his posture from full guard.
Chiba wants to pass the guard but Crook is keeping the position.
Crook knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chiba on the ground.

Chiba drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Crook dives on top into guard.

Chiba takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Crook misses with a hook
and Chiba counters with a takedown into side control.
Chiba wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Crook, who protects the arm well.
Chiba is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Crook has escaped the position, nice work there.
Chiba looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Chiba tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Crook is looking for a sweep.
Chiba has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Chiba jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Crook manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Chiba tries to move to full mount but Crook actually manages to regain half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chiba is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Crook doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Chiba.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hattori Chiba dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Chiba uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Crook.

Chiba gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Crook counters with a stiff right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chiba shoots for a double leg takedown but Crook sprawls well. He's pushed Chiba's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Crook ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Crook tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chiba was well out of range. Poor timing from Crook.

Halfway Crook has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hattori Chiba.
Crook will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Halfway Crook is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Crook throws a hook to the side of Chiba's head but Chiba sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Chiba is working for a kimura but Crook is defending it quite comfortably.

Chiba is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Crook defends it well.

Chiba wants to stand up but Crook has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Chiba is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Crook sees it coming and defends easily.
Chiba seems to be looking for submissions.
Chiba is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Crook is just riding it out for now. Chiba eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Crook wants to get back to his feet.
Chiba is looking to pass Crook's guard but actually Crook recovers to full guard.
Chiba pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Crook is keeping the position for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chiba has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Crook is proving hard to escape from.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Hattori Chiba will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Crook misses with a wild body shot.
Crook looks to land a left hand but Chiba moved out of range nicely.
Crook shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Chiba eats them both and turns towards Crook to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Chiba shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Crook as he jumps to the side.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Halfway Crook just wasn't active enough.

and Chiba counters with a single leg into guard. Crook didn't expect that.
Chiba advances to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chiba is working for a submission of some sort.
Chiba is trying to work for a kimura but Crook is defending well.
Chiba looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Chiba is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Crook manages to get to full guard.
Chiba wants to pass the guard but Crook is keeping the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Chiba passes Crook's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Chiba trying to pass the guard but Crook defending well.
Chiba moves into full mount! Crook won't be happy about that!
Crook has left one of his arms exposed and Chiba doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Crook screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
