Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Stasiu Dziwisz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tom Slater!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Slater looking to score a takedown here. Dziwisz is defending well but Slater drives through and ends up in Dziwisz's guard.

Slater stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Dziwisz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Dziwisz tries to free his leg and advance position but Slater is retaining full guard.
Dziwisz is looking to stand up but Slater won't let him.
Slater preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Slater pushes Dziwisz off and scrambles back to his feet.

Slater stands and steps away. Dziwisz gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Slater shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dziwisz's guard.

Dziwisz is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Slater is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

OK we're going to have a standup here. Tom Slater hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Slater in particular looking to stall.

Tom Slater showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Dziwisz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

Slater slows the pace down.
Dziwisz is pushing Slater's head away, looking to escape. Slater manages to hold on to the position though.

Slater decides to stand back up.

Dziwisz gets caught flat footed, as Slater shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Slater lands a couple of digs.

Dziwisz isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Slater stacks Dziwisz on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Slater!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dziwisz is working an open guard so Slater takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Slater shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Dziwisz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Tom Slater is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Slater gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Tom Slater comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Slater has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
