The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Groot connects with a high kick.
Dex avoids the head kick by Groot.
Groot misses with a straight left.
Dex tries to clinch but Groot moves out of range.

Dex clinches.
Groot throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Dex blocks it with crossed arms.
A right handed body shot lands from Groot.
Dex is trying to break the clinch but Groot is controlling him.
Dex wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
A short uppercut from Dex.

Dex manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Groot passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Dex knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Groot on the ground.

Groot tries for a kimura but Dex is defending well.

Groot decides to stand back up.

Groot gets caught napping as Dex dives in and scores a takedown. Groot manages to retain guard.

Dex is looking to stand up but Groot won't let him.

Groot is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dex defends well.

Groot had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Dex defends it easily.
Dex throwing strikes from guard but Groot blocks nicely.
Dex wants to pass the guard but Groot is keeping the position.
Groot trying to strike off his back.
Groot looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dex is one step ahead there.

Dex would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
