PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rysiek Ochodzki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luther King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Luther King was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rysiek Ochodzki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luther King!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ochodzki fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with King, pushing him back against the cage.
King wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Ochodzki manages to break the clinch.
Ochodzki falls off balance throwing a combination
and King counters with a two punch combo.
King throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Ochodzki holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ochodzki goes for a takedown attempt but King pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Rysiek Ochodzki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King lands a nice shot that snaps Ochodzki's head back.
King thuds his right hand into Ochodzki's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Ochodzki dives in and grabs King's left leg, looking for a takedown. King pushes down on Ochodzki's head and hops out.
Ochodzki fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rysiek Ochodzki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
King throws a sloppy head kick and Ochodzki moves out of range easily.

Ochodzki rushes King and presses him up against the cage.

Ochodzki lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Ochodzki misses with an elbow over the top.
King wants to break free but Ochodzki has control.

Ochodzki pulls King into guard.
King works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

King is looking for a kimura here.
Ochodzki preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Ochodzki actively working from the bottom here.
Ochodzki wants to improve his position but King is controlling well.
Ochodzki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for King on the ground.
King trying to control from half guard but Ochodzki is working away.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rysiek Ochodzki.
King looks to clinch
and Ochodzki counters with a body kick that stops King in his tracks momentarily.
King looks gassed!

Ochodzki clinches.

Ochodzki pulls guard successfully.
Ochodzki managing to control the position.

Ochodzki pushes King off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Ochodzki fails with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rysiek Ochodzki dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


King wants to clinch

and Ochodzki counters by moving into the clinch.

Ochodzki escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice takedown defense from King. No joy for Ochodzki on that attempt.
Ochodzki moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Ochodzki has King up against the cage in a clinch.
A short left from Ochodzki.
Ochodzki stalls.
King tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Ochodzki manages to pull guard.
King wants to pass the guard but Ochodzki is keeping the position.
Ochodzki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

King tries to free his leg and advance position but Ochodzki is retaining full guard.
Ochodzki trying to keep a closed guard but King is proving a slippery customer.
King tries to stand but Ochodzki is controlling from the bottom.

We're going to have a standup here because Rysiek Ochodzki wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Ochodzki looks for a takedown but King sprawls well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ochodzki connects with a body shot.
Ochodzki shoots for a takedown but King saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rysiek Ochodzki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ochodzki.
King tries to clinch up
and Ochodzki counters with a low kick, right behind King 's knee.
King is breathing heavily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ochodzki.

Ochodzki has managed to clinch.
King wants to break the clinch but can't.
King has had enough of the clinch but Ochodzki keeps him there for the moment.

Ochodzki pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
King avoids the head kick by Ochodzki.

Ochodzki has closed the distance and engaged King in a clinch.
Ochodzki controlling the action here for a moment.
King tries to pull guard but Ochodzki won't allow it.

Ochodzki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
King throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
King throws a left and a right that both miss

and Ochodzki holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Ochodzki jumps guard and drags King to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Ochodzki not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
King throwing strikes but missing.

King is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Ochodzki can't keep his opponent in guard - King advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
King stops Ochodzki from getting back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rysiek Ochodzki dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



King gets tackled into the cage by Ochodzki. Ochodzki maintains the clinch.

Ochodzki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Ochodzki moves into the clinch.
Ochodzki wants a takedown.
Ochodzki stalling.
Ochodzki jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as King walks away with a smile on his face. Ochodzki gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
No luck for Ochodzki with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rysiek Ochodzki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
King closes the distance looking to clinch
and Ochodzki counters with a solid body kick.
Ochodzki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but King was well out of range. Poor timing from Ochodzki.
Ochodzki blocks a head kick by King.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Ochodzki. King shrugs it off though.
King takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Ochodzki drives through and clinches with King against the cage.
King wants to break free but Ochodzki has control.

Ochodzki breaks from the clinch.

King throws a head kick that misses
and Ochodzki counters with a two punch combo.

Ochodzki moves into the clinch successfully.
King blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
King is pressed up against the cage. Ochodzki has hold of a leg and is looking to drag King down to the mat. King avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ochodzki misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Ochodzki clinches with his opponent.
King avoiding damage as Ochodzki throws knees to the body.
King is trying to break the clinch but Ochodzki is controlling him.
Ochodzki's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Ochodzki fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

King tries to clinch but Ochodzki moves away

and Ochodzki counters by clinching up.
A frustrated look appears on King's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Ochodzki gets control of King's arms and successfully pulls guard. Ochodzki will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
King wants to control from the top but Ochodzki keeps moving.
Ochodzki looking to hit a scissor sweep but King is one step ahead there.
King trying to control but Ochodzki is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Luther King was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Ochodzki looks for a takedown but King sprawls well.
Ochodzki shoots in for a takedown but King shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
King tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Ochodzki counters by moving into the clinch.
A bit of stalling here from Ochodzki.
King tries to circle away but Ochodzki has him pinned against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ochodzki working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from King.
King with a nice head shot there.
King trying to control the position from guard on top but Ochodzki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ochodzki is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Ochodzki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rysiek Ochodzki showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Ochodzki has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
