Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Joshua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrell Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Anthony Joshua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Terrell Hayes!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oooooh!!! Joshua has knocked Hayes down with a huge combo! Joshua steps away and waves a wobbly Hayes back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


It looks like Terrell Hayes has been cut.

Joshua shoots in and bounces Hayes off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.


Hayes is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hayes utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Joshua stands and steps away. Hayes gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Joshua ducks under a wild hook from Hayes.
Hayes doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hayes moves out of range as Joshua strikes.

Joshua shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Joshua was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joshua trying to control but Hayes is having none of it.

Joshua wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Hayes keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Joshua content just to control the position here.

Hayes tries to reverse the position but Joshua maintains control.
Joshua can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hayes is looking to escape.

We're going to have a standup here because Anthony Joshua wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Joshua swings away with a leg kick that misses.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Joshua just misses with a punch to the body.
Joshua tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hayes throws a low kick but it's checked well by Joshua.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Joshua misses with a takedown

and Hayes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Joshua's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Joshua throws a big shot that misses.
Joshua throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Joshua tries to bum rush Hayes with a series of wild strikes but Hayes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Joshua shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hayes napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Hayes tries to improve position but can't.
Joshua wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hayes keeps working.
Hayes manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hayes is trying to get back to full guard.
Hayes is breathing heavily.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Joshua works his way into side control.
Hayes is trying to improve his position.

Joshua trying to mount his opponent but Hayes defends it.
Joshua seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hayes does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Joshua takes a little break here. Hayes wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Joshua moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Joshua lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Joshua stands up and beckons Hayes to his feet.

Joshua feints and as Hayes raises his hands in defense, Joshua changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hayes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Joshua gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Anthony Joshua overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Joshua stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hayes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hayes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Joshua throws the left hand but Hayes avoids the punch easily.
Joshua jabs Hayes to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Joshua throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Hayes's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Joshua dives in looking to finish as Hayes flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Joshua's strikes! Joshua is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Hayes's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Hayes was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anthony Joshua!
