Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nate Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Demon Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Maia's choice of entrance music: Numb/Encore. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jones.
Jones connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Maia momentarily.

Maia tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Maia bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Jones's head backwards.

Maia's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Jones has his foot on Maia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Maia works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones really wants to buck Maia off and get back to his feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

That's time! Jones's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Jones got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maia has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jones has managed to get both his arms back between Maia's legs - danger averted.

Maia is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Jones defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Maia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Maia controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.
Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Jones is looking to work some ground and pound but Maia has wrist control.

Maia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
