The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Craft pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Craft ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Velasquez moves away.
Velasquez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Craft.
Craft misses with the combination.
Craft misses with a body punch
letting Velasquez counter with a right hand.
Craft jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Craft throws a body punch but Velasquez moves out of range.
Velasquez smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Craft misses with an uppercut
and Velasquez cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Velasquez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Craft.
Craft misses with a hook
and Velasquez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Velasquez takes one to the chin there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Velasquez avoids a punch combination nicely.
Velasquez takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Craft swats away the attempt to clinch by Velasquez.
Craft cracks a nice hook into Velasquez's ribs.
Craft fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Craft slips a straight right by Velasquez.
Craft tries to bum rush Velasquez with a series of wild strikes but Velasquez uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Velasquez thows a body shot but no joy.
Velasquez throws a shot from downtown. Craft moves away and avoids it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Velasquez.
Velasquez lands a jab to the head.
A shot to the body from Craft misses
enabling Velasquez to counter with a crisp jab.
Velasquez cracks Craft with a right hand to the side of the head.

Velasquez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Craft missing with a left hand there. Velasquez was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Craft misses with a body shot.
Craft swings away with a body shot that misses
and Craft takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Velasquez is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Craft had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Craft throws a body punch but Velasquez moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Craft. Velasquez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Craft punishes Velasquez's body with a nice straight punch.
Craft circles away from the clinch attempt
and Craft counters with a right hand to the body.
Velasquez looks gassed!

Craft scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Velasquez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Craft connects with a high kick.

Velasquez is rocked!

It looks like Cain Velasquez has been cut.
Aaron Craft seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Craft throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Velasquez is still on wobbly legs! Can Craft finish him?
Aaron Craft is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Craft lands an uppercut, right on the button! Velasquez tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
