Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abdul Al Hassan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Wise (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al Hassan's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Iraqi National Anthem. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Hassan connects with a crisp jab.
Al Hassan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Wise has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
A slow jab from Wise misses its intended target.
Wise fails to land the takedown.
Wise takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

and Wise counters with a nice double leg into side control. Al Hassan won't be happy with that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Al Hassan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Wise asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wise has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Wise is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Al Hassan is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

That was a close round but I would say that Abdul Al Hassan will probably get the nod.

and Al Hassan makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Al Hassan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wise stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Al Hassan here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Wise with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Al Hassan to score with a decent uppercut.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Al Hassan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Wise at a distance.
Al Hassan turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Wise doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Al Hassan feints and then cracks Wise's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wise down.

Abdul Al Hassan showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Al Hassan, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
