Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Reyes!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montoya throws a poor cross that misses
and Reyes counters with a nice leg kick.
Montoya moves away from the strike by Reyes.
Reyes takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Montoya is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Reyes is defending well for now.

Montoya is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Reyes can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Montoya goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Reyes is on top in guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Montoya shoots in for a double leg but Reyes sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Reyes closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Montoya looks for the body kick but Reyes saw that one coming.
Reyes connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Montoya momentarily.
