Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tauno Taputtaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Smith does no damage.
Smith leaves Taputtaja with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Smith counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Taputtaja!
John Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tauno Taputtaja.
Taputtaja tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Smith looking to control but Taputtaja is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

You can see the frustration on Taputtaja's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith is trying to stick to Taputtaja's back but Taputtaja is turning into Smith. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Smith's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Taputtaja.

Taputtaja advances to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Taputtaja tries to pass the half guard into mount. Smith knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Taputtaja wants to work for an arm triangle but Smith is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Taputtaja works his foot free and advances to mount.
Smith is breathing heavily.

Smith has left one of his arms exposed and Taputtaja doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Smith screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
