The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Grygera counters with an outside leg kick.
Aldo with a lazy takedown attempt
and Grygera counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Aldo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Grygera counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Aldo thinking.
Petr Grygera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Aldo.
Grygera tries to close the distance and clinch but Aldo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Grygera has Aldo up against the cage in a clinch.
Aldo drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Grygera gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Grygera breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Grygera counters with a head kick. That will keep Aldo thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Aldo shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Grygera counters with a head kick.

Grygera lands a head kick. Aldo smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Aldo is rocked!
Whack! Grygera lands a heavy head kick that drops Aldo. The ref tackles Grygera to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Aldo was done.
